Arise and Know

According to an article I read this morning, our soldiers are being sent to Afghanistan with inadequate packs and weapons. They are purchasing their own packs from commercial stores (cabellas) with THEIR OWN MONEY because the ones given them have heavy plastic straps that cut off circulation to their arms. I find this totally unacceptable. With all the money that our country spends on defense, wouldn't you think that there would be enough in the budget for decent packs? What aggravates me even more is all the attention going towards the Health Care Bill while our soldiers are being neglected. The priorities of our government is mind boggling. Who is standing up for our military? I haven't heard of a single politician who has chosen to address this issue. Our military deserves the BEST. Also int the article are some more issues with weaponry and the camo coloring. What about all the BILLIONS of dollars left over from the stimulus package?...Which can also be called a slush fund. Lets put that to good use instead of using it for bribing politicians for votes for this outrageous Health Care Bill. Click on this post to read the article.

Arise and Be Thankful

I am thankful to live in the greatest country on earth. I am so blessed to be a part of a nation filled with men and women who are so selfless, who are fighting and dying overseas to protect my freedoms. Four soldiers died yesterday in Afghanistan. They died for us. How many children do not have a father or mother because of their sacrifice? How many women are at home right now mourning the loss of their other half? I have so much. My husband comes home every night, he tucks our kids in bed, they see him everyday. How many children get to tell their father or mother that they love them through a letter and occasional phone call? No kiss on the cheek, no hug, no homework help, no daily encouragement, and an empty seat at the dinner table every night. Not only am I thankful for our soldiers, but I love them. They are blindly obedient. While the politics of this war is at its highest, they don't have a say, they just fight and try to stay alive one day at a time. Thank you military and God bless you and your sweet families.

Arise and Know

Obama says that he is close to a troop decision. Seriously? It's been weeks since General McCrystal has requested a troop surge in Afghanistan, and our president is still on the fence? That does not sound like leadership to me. Yesterday I was listening to talk radio and a caller said something about Sarah Palin being president vs Obama, and that he thought men are better leaders than women. That got me thinking long and hard about someone like Sarah being our president. I have read a lot about her, listened to her at every possible moment, and so I am not ignorant when I say that I think she would handle this particular situation much better than Obama. Her decision would have been made long ago. She would have shown respect to the General and our troops by doing so as well. What I really like about her is that she doesn't cater to anyone but the people she serves. I would sleep better at night if she were making these decisions. Obama has never looked so much like a man-child as he does right now.

Here is what I think about the war...FIGHT TO WIN, or bring all our troops home. If we are not in it to win it with everything we have, then that is a huge slap in the face to all our brave men and women in the middle east. What about them? It is not fair to our military. We are in this war whether we like it or not, so FIGHT LIKE A MAN MR. PRESIDENT...or please, please bring our troops home so that no more lives are lost because of your inadequacies.

Arise and Know

More and more information is coming out on the Fort Hood killer Hasan. And it is getting worse. I am once again even more convinced that political correctness is burying America. Political correctness played a major role in last weeks massacre. Here are the facts...Hasan is a terrorist. Top officials knew. No one did anything. If it were my husband, brother, son, friend, among the 13 killed, there would be hell to pay. I have no ties to anyone killed or wounded, but I am livid. Why? Because this could have been prevented. I read this morning that one fellow soldier who worked with Hasan told higher-ups that Hasan was a "ticking time bomb." This man went on to say that he was shocked, but not surprised about Hasan's deadly rampage. The signs were there months and months ago.

In light of what has happened this past week, I have come to a realization...I cannot give top US officials (FBI, CIA, Homeland Security etc.) the benefit of the doubt any longer. It used to be that I would expect the PC non-sense from politicians and corporate America, but not from them. Not from the men and women whose job it is to protect and defend our nation! Before Fort Hood, I would have thought that even ONE SINGLE SIGN of a radical Muslim in our military would have been addressed IMMEDIATELY. Right? Was I alone in thinking that? It saddens me that I have lost faith in those whom I once believed put politics aside as they made critical decisions regarding the safety of America. Being politically correct was more important to them. And 13 people are dead because of it...because they enabled an Islamic extremist to STAY in the military.
