you are a M.O.M. when.....
instead of writing letters TO Santa, you write letters FROM Santa.
This weekend a cute loved one brought me a letter to read that she had received from Santa last year. It was so cute and you could tell the pride and joy in the child's eyes as she brought it to me. Writing these letters from Santa has become so fun with all of the support from modern technology (click of Arise and Laugh to link to free Santa Letters).
Writing letters, buying gifts, the stories are all so exciting. It makes the magic even more real when you see the light in a child's eye light up. Take a minute today to enjoy your Santa responsibilities by thinking about the joy on Christmas morning. Remember gifts are a symbol of the greatest gift of all.

you are a M.O.M. when.....
lying becomes a requirement rather than a sin.
You know the good lies such as; Santa, Santa's cookies, reindeer food, reindeer pellets, special keys left for Santa so he can enter the house, elves make all the toys, coal in your stocking if you are bad, magic sleigh and a bag full of toys.
These are all so important to our little ones until one day they figure out that it all doesn't add up. So then what? What happens to all the magic?
The magic turns more meaning full to the real Reason for the Season, the birth of our Savior, the greatest gift of all. They are now ready to let go of the symbols and embrace the true spirit.
There is a great book that brings these symbols together that we read every year multiple times. I Believe in Santa Claus

you are a M.O.M. when.....
you and Santa are so close that you actually HAVE a list and are checking it twice.
As a M.O.M. this list becomes a life line to sanity at this time of year. I have written and rewritten this list multiple times already and this is not including the times in my head. I think my relationship with this list is stronger than the one I have with my other half, at least just for now. I love this time of year! FaLaLaLaLaLaLa!

Santa...the hero of the world these days! Don't we M.O.M.'s sometimes feel a little cheated that this guy gets all the credit for our hard work?? Maybe though if we think about what he means: hope, love, giving at a time when no one else can. All things we could use a little more of. So Santa baby, hurry down the chimney tonight!

you are a M.O.M. when you.....
become Santa and forget to eat the cookies.
I love the magic that happens at Christmas time and with all of that magic comes a forgetful M.O.M. because I am just too excited about teaching the meaning of Christmas and the gifts of love. Who cares about the cookies? Oh, the kids do!
I didn't become Santa until I was married because even after I was eight and figured life out, my mother told me I had to BELIEVE or Santa would not come. I was taught that Santa was a symbol of our Savior and that he is the REASON for the SEASON. I loved this! I am glad my mother kept the magic alive. I still feel the magic in my heart and am passing it on the my loved ones. Merry Christmas!!!

you are a M.O.M. when....
getting up at 3:30am (or never going to sleep) on the Friday after Thanksgiving sounds like a great idea.
When did this become a common and needed thing to do. I am sure it was a M.O.M. that thought we have got to go shopping and be the first ones in line or our childrens' lives will come to an end Christmas morning when Santa has not brought the right gift. This is only because the love of our little ones out ways any selfish need....like sleep. I believe this only proves my thoughts that M.O.M.'s rule the retail world. I hope that all of you who were out this morning got everything you needed to make sure the Santa magic happens this year. I was one of the lucky ones. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
